Sauryi from Memoirs of a Geisha as geiko. This is how I imagined her before the movie was released, but this piece was inspired by the soundtrack, all composed by John Williams (the best!! He did Harry Potter!) . Especially the piece "The Chairman's Waltz". [link] Go listen to it, it's breathtaking!

To all of you who know how geiko dress, forgive me the inaccuracies!! I originally intended to draw Sayuri as Maiko (in a really cute red and pink kimono), but then I became sad, so I drew her as weary and hopeless, right before the war.

The kimono, obi and hair are poorly done, and I wasn't very patient with the details of the silk. But I generally like it, still, even though the scanner ruined the colours (the hands are really dark)!!

Very good job on the pic, btw. :D The kimono detail is beautiful and the blossom petals are a nice touch.
